Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) at the request of Health Ministry, is currently conducting a Dengue Prevention Program in Colombo, Matara, Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Puttalam districts with the participation of more than 400 troops serving the SFHQ-West.
The project (March 26 - April 1), coordinated through the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) is closely monitored by Major General U.A.B. Medawela, Commander, SFHQ - West.
The SLAEA, founded in February 1946 has a history of assisting the welfare of the families of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) War Heroes and disabled War Heroes. Saturday’s 67th AGM was attended by more than 450 members of SLE families.
The proceedings included election of office-bearers for 2015/2016, presentation of the annual report and adoption of accounts for the year 2014 and several other routine matters. A fellowship lunch brought the AGM to an end.
Major General N.U.M.M.W Senanayake, Military Secretary, Major General L.N Wickramasuriya, Chief Field Engineer, Major General K.M.U Wijeratne, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Major General V.U.B Nanayakkara (retd), Major General A.E.D Wijendra (retd), Major General M.D.S Chandrapala (retd), Major General V.N Wijegunawardene (retd) and several other retired officers also attended the AGM.
