Major General Ajith Dissanayake made his first official visit to the 661 Brigade and its under command Battalions, 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment after assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66 Division a few days ago on Wednesday (03).
The GOC was welcomed by Brigadier Shantha Hewage, Commander of the 661 Brigade on arrival at the Brigade Headquarters awarding a ceremonial Guard Turn out. After that, the GOC ceremonially opened the newly-constructed Reverse Osmosis plant in the camp premises. Subsequently, the Brigade Commander and respective COs comprehensively briefed the GOC on deployment, roles, tasks and routine operations in their area of responsibility.
Afterwards, the visiting GOC planted a sapling to symbolize the visit to the 661 Brigade premises. After his address to the troops, he left for a field visit to under command Battalions. His visit to the Brigade culminated after his compliments, made in the visitors’ book.short url link | Footwear
