As of this morning (28), a total of 674 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Six of them are Sri Lankan expatriates and others are locally-identified ones, including the majority 174 from Colombo, 110 from Kalutara district, 153 from Gampaha district and other 231 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (28), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 37,338. Meanwhile, 29,943 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (34,279) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
By this morning (28), a total of 41, 053 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 32,700 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,162 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (28), 650 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, 04 more deaths have been reported from Kadawatha, Pitakotte, Ragama and Vavuniya. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 191 by this morning (28).
As of this morning (28), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 16 passengers, the flight UL 1264 from Saudi Arabia with 02 passengers, the flight 6E 903 from India with 18 passengers have arrived. The flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 05 passengers, the flight PQ 555 from the UAE with 150 passengers and the flight UL 186 from Pakistan with 04 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
