Colonel Janak Jayawardana assumed duties as the 8th Commander of the 641 Brigade of the 64 Division under the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu on Tuesday (27), amid religious blessings at the 641 Brigade Headquarters.
The newly-appointed Commander of the 641 Brigade was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of the 14 Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Afterwards, Colonel Janak Jayawardana placed his signature in a formal document to symbolize the assumption of duties, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of senior officers. Later on, he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a gesture of memory.
An All Rank tea and a formal address to the Officers and Other Ranks culminated the day's proceedings. Major C.T Athuldora Arachchi, Commanding Officer of the 14 SLSR, Brigade staff and Other Ranks were associated with the occasion.Sport media | Air Jordan Release Dates Calendar
