In view of the miserable living condition of a family resident in the general area of Wasanthipuram, 641 Brigade troops of the 64 Division under the Security Force HQ – Mullaittivu got together and jointly provided a dry ration pack, worth about Rs 7500/= at their expense as a community project.
Dry ration packs consisted of coconuts, rice, dhal, spices, cereals, dry fish, noodles, etc and the project received the appreciation of Brigadier Janath Jayawardane, Commander, 641 Brigade.
641 Brigade Commander, 641 Brigade's Civil Affairs Officer, Officers and Other Ranks were present when those relief packs were given to the family after visiting their doorstep.
It was on the Army Day (10 October) last year, 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the same Brigade built a new house for this family with the support of donors.
