Following financial support received from a donor, the 641 Brigade of the 64 Division under the guidance of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces -Mullaittivu organized a free distribution of 250 spectacles to visually-impaired needy civilians in Oddusudan area on Friday (29) at the 64 Division HQ with arrangements, kept in place by Colonel Janath Jayawardana, Commander, 641 Brigade.
This Community Project launched by the 641 Brigade at first saw opticians and medical officers examine their eye sights before the use of spectacles was recommended after inviting them. It was a conceptual direction, given by Major General Manjula Karunarathe, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division who also took part in the distribution as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the 641 Brigade Commander.
The financial support for the entire project was given by Mr Jagath Kumara and his friends in the South in a bid to further strengthen bonds of reconciliation, goodwill and harmony amongst all ethnic communities. All the beneficiaries and visitors to the occasion were treated to breakfast and refreshments at the expense of those donors.
14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 641 Brigade actively contributed to the success of the project where community leaders in Oddusudan praised the Army for its initiative in this regard as many of those civilians are unable to afford for purchase of those spectacles.short url link | Air Jordan Release Dates 2020
