A large stock of books and accessories were donated to 50 students at T/Paranamedawachchiya Primary School on Saturday (16) following sponsorship received from a retired Armoured Corps officer, Colonel Gamini Balasooriya and his family who are currently residing in the US.
General Officer Commanding 62 Division Major General Samantha Silva graced the distribution as the Chief Guest for donation of those school books and accessories and the event was made a reality by 622 Brigade troops in the area.
