Naddakandal school students in Manthai East in the 612 Brigade area of the 61 Division under the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W), following initiatives taken by the 612 Brigade Headquarters, were gifted with new pairs of shoes, school accessories and uniform materials after the Commander, SFHQ-W made a formal inspection tour to the 612 Brigade Headquarters, earlier on Friday (14).
61 Division in coordination with 612 Brigade Headquarters, troops of 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 33 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), together with education authorities organized the donation of these items to those children at Naddankandal.
Earlier on the day, Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W visited the 612 Brigade Headquarters at Vavuniya as a routine visit. He was greeted with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour as a military formality.
During his stay there, Major General Perera opened the new 612 Brigade administrative complex building that houses an auditorium. He also addressed all ranks during the visit and planted a mango sapling in the headquarters premises.
A large gathering of senior officers and other ranks witnessed these arrangements.
