61 Infantry Division Conducts Three-Day Photography Workshop

Under the guidance of Major General K.T.P De Silva RSP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, a three-day workshop on mobile phone photography was successfully conducted from 21st to 23rd January 2025 at the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters.

The workshop aimed to promote photography as a medium to showcase the remarkable activities of Army personnel, while also fostering creativity, self-expression, and skill development among participants.

Renowned photographers Mr. Priyantha Abeysundara B.Fa NPAS, Hon FNPAS, and Mr. Suresh S. Weerasinghe ANPAS of the “Roopa Chiraka” Forum conducted the programme with the participation of 70 Other Ranks.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of photography, advanced techniques, practical applications, and methods for adjusting lighting and colour. Practical sessions enabled participants to apply these concepts in real-time under the expert guidance of the trainers.

Special certificates were awarded for the five best photographs captured during the workshop, while all other participants received certificates of participation.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks took part in the event.
