The well-known Mr Kushil Gunasekera's 'Foundation of Goodness' which has been instrumental in conducting many welfare relief projects for the underprivileged in the North, Wanni and the East for the last couple of years in close coordination with Army troops in respective areas once again launched a project to distribute cash gift vouchers and school accessories to 150 deserving students, selected from 28 schools in the Wanni region on Friday (5) during a simple ceremony at Mulliyawalai Vidyananda College in Mulliyawalai, Mullaittivu.
Organized by 591 Brigade HQ troops, commanded by Colonel Sujeewa Perera, the arrangement saw those students from low-income groups receive Rs 1500 in DSI cash vouchers for purchase of essentials and a stock of school accessories and books, needed for their studies. Selection of those students was done on the recommendation of school authorities and respective Grama Seva officials in relevant areas.
