59 Division troops under command to the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with patronage received from old friends of Colombo Royal College, University of Sri Jayawardenapura and Messrs Prasad Lokubalasoriya, Thilanka Medis, Kushan Chathuranga, T.K Peiris, Chinthaka Abeysekara, Deepal Siriwardena and N. Bandara, donated 10 pregnant women in Nandikadal area with most essentials on Poson Poya day (14).
The same group of donors held a free eatery stall (Dansela) throughout day and night in order to highlight the importance of this Full Moon Poya day.
Each pregnant woman under this project was gifted a basin, a mosquito net, baby soap and cloth, required for infants.
The distribution programme was graced by Major General Sanjaya Wanasingha, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu at the invitation of Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division .
Brigade Commanders of 591,592 and 593 Brigades, few senior Officers, Police officers of the area and government officials attended the event.
