59 Div Troops Put Up Three More Houses for the Poor


59 Division Headquarters in Mullaittivu with the support of several donor organizations and donors, contributed to the construction of three new houses for three down-trodden families in the area.

Those three Army-built houses at Silawatta, Mulliyaweli Kumarapuram and Mulliyaweli West areas were opened recently during three separate ceremonies, organized by the Army troops serving Security Forces Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT).

Hon Namal Rajapaksa (MP), District Secretary for Mullaittivu, Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander SFHQ-MLT, Brigadier G.R.H. Dias, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, state officials, officers and a large gathering witnessed the ceremonies where those houses were handed over to their recipients.

The new house at Silawatta was funded by Kalubowila, Sri Saranankara Road ‘Shanthi Foundation’ while the one at Kumarapuram was sponsored by two more donors. The new house at Mulliyaweli west received financial donations, to the value of Rs 350,000/= from two more donors.

23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), 4 SLLI and 20 (v) Gemunu Watch (GW) troops serving the 59 Division in Mullaittivu, offered their labour and engineering capabilities for the construction of all three houses on the directions of senior officers.
