582 Brigade Troops Construct Officers' Mess Building in their HQ

In parallel with the 15th anniversary of the 582 Brigade of the 58 Division under command to the 1 Corps HQ, the 582 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Priyantha Nawarathna on 2 August warmed and opened its newly-built Officers' Mess building in the compound at Horana during a simple ceremony.

Manpower plus the engineering and technical skills of those 582 Brigade troops enabled the successful completion of the project, well ahead of the deadline. The 582 Brigade Commander cut a ribbon, unveiled a plaque, and entered the new building where milk-pot boiling rituals were performed.

Staff Officers in the Brigade and a few senior Officers attended the occasion.
