Troops serving the 581 Brigade in Paranthan on the instructions of its Brigade Commander put up a display of Vesak lanterns at the 581 Brigade Headquarters premises on account of Vesak.
The display during Vesak (May 5 - 8) attracted a large gathering of civilians living in the area. Brigadier W.A.S Weerawardana, Commander, 581 Brigade opened the display on the first day of the Vesak commemoration.
