Troops of the 58 Division HQ in Puthalam celebrated its 12th anniversary on the directions of Major General Priyanka Fernando, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 58 Division on Sunday (3).
Donation of dry rations among poor families and stationery and school accessories among students, offer of alms to 60 Buddhist monks and a Bodhi Puja Pinkama preceded the anniversary day on Saturday (2).
Military formalities on the anniversary day (3) commenced with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour salute, presented by 58 Division troops to the GOC on arrival in the premises. Planting of a tree sapling, troop address and an all-rank tea brought the anniversary agenda to culmination on the same day.
