57 Division HQ troops under the Security Force HQ- Kilinochchi extending their share of contributing to the Commander's 'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak’ and the national 'Husma Dena Thuru' projects on Monday (23) distributed more than 1500 of endemic plants among all Brigades, Battalions and Training Schools under the Division.
On the directions of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, an 'Eco-Park' concept was also introduced to all the camps under the 57 Division HQ encouraging them to set apart a dedicated area exceptionally for a green house programme for planting in order to preserve endemic trees with natural values.
The inauguration of the project was marked at 57 Division - Murukkandi camp premises on 23 November 2020 by the General Officer Commanding 57 Division. The Colonel General Staff, Colonel Administration and Quartering of the 57 Division and the Commanding Officer of the 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment too joined the event.
