Commander Security Forces Killinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe made his maiden official visit to the 57 Division HQ on Monday (01).
On arrival at the 57 Division HQ, Commander Security Forces - Killinochchi was received by the General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, and was honoured in a Guard Turnout.
Then General Officer commanding, 57 Division ushered him to plant a sapling in the premises to symbolize the visit. After that, a brief presentation on operational, administrative and logistic aspects of the Division was conducted by the GOC 57 Division. Subsequently, the visiting Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi posed for a group photograph with the Staff of 57 Division.
Thereafter, Major General Ranasinghe addressed the troops and emphasized the importance of performing the assigned duties with dedication and commitment. Further, he stressed the need of promoting, their professional competencies through the constant training to develop multiple tasks by the soldiers to face the future security challenges of the nation. Later, the Commander visited the Victory Monument at Kilinochchi and the Harmony Centre to inspect development needs of those locations, if any.
