The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division Major General Harendra Ranasinghe made his formal visits to respective under command Brigades and Battalions shortly after he took over duties at his office.
He respectively visited the 562 Brigade first and subsequently under command battalions of the 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 09 December 2020. On 10 December 2020 he visited the 563 Brigade and under command battalions of the 21 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Similarly, he visited the 561 Brigade and under the command battalions of the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 17 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 11 December 2020 before he finally on 12 Saturday visited the 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment camp in the general area of Vavuniya.
The General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by respective Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders on his arrival. Thereafter all other formal activities were observed at each institution with presentations of relevant roles of each unit.
