As of this morning (16), a total of 643 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 19 of them are Sri Lankan expatriates and two foreigners and the rest, 622 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 309 from Colombo, 104 from Gampaha district and 119 from Kalutara district and other 90 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (16), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 30,455. Meanwhile, 21,459 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (27,396) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (15), a total of 34,120 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 24,866 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 9,100 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (16), 558 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres within last 24 hours. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours.
By this morning (16), the flight UL 104 from the Maldives with 36 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 93 passengers and the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 52 passengers have arrived. The flight UL 218 from Qatar with 48 passengers, the flight UL 190 with 42 passengers from Bangladesh, the flight UL 1042 from India with 46 passengers and the flight UL 303 from Singapore with 07 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with one passenger and the flight UL 881 from China with 04 passengers are expected to arrive here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
