551Brigade troops of the 55 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna renovated and modified a class room at Katkovalam Missionary Mixed Tamil School in Point Pedro and formally informed it to the Principal on 19 October.
Major General Prasanna Gunarathne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division, together with Brigadier Chinthaka Wicramasinghe, Commander, 551 Brigade participated in the brief handover ceremony.
16 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops provided manpower to do necessary renovations and modification. Ven Mugunuwela Anuruddha Thero, Chief Secretary of 'Samastha Lanka Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya, provided financial contribution to the project.
Mr. Sathyapalan, Director Zonal Education Vadamarachchi, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the event.
