Hundreds of soldiers serving 54 Division in Mannar joined hands together on May Day (1) to clean up the entire Mannar hospital premises during a mammoth full-day ‘Shramadana’ campaign.
Those troops under the Command of Brigadier M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division removed garbage, sand and all other unwanted elements in drains surrounding the hospital’s main theatre, hospital kitchen and all other areas. Army troops used two of their own vehicles to carry garbage out of the hospital premises.
The Shramadana drive of the troops came in for praise of hospital authorities and inmates.
Brigadier Dias, senior Army officers and hospital employees attended the programme.
