525 More Confirmed Positive to Virus- NOCPCO

As of this morning (9), a total of 525 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were one Sri Lankan expatriate and 524 locally-identified ones, including the majority 193 from Colombo district, 94 from Gampaha district, 56 from Vavuniya and other 181 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (9), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 43,525. Meanwhile, 37,559 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (34,500) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (9), a total of 47,304 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 40,316 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,763 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (9), 656 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 03 more deaths have been reported from Horana, Ratnapura and Colombo 14 areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 225 by this morning (9).

By this morning (9), the flight EY 264 from the UAE with 44 passengers and the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 31 passengers, the flight UL 226 from the UAE with 152 passengers, the flight UL 232 from the UAE with 144 passengers, the flight UL 1026 from India with 45 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 95 passengers have arrived.

The flight UL 867 from China with 12 passengers and the flight WY 373 from Oman with 50 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
