Colonel Mahen Salwathura assumed duties as the 22nd Commander of the 521 Brigade, amid religious blessings at the Headquarters in the Jaffna peninsula on Thursday (29).
The newly-appointed Commander of the 521 Brigade was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by the troops of the 11 Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Colonel Mahen Salwathura placed his signature in a formal document to mark his assumption of duties, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha in the presence of several Senior Officers attending the occasion.
Later on, he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a gesture of memory.
An All Rank tea with Officers and Other Ranks culminated the day’s proceedings. Lieutenant Colonel M.D.J.G Munagamage, Commanding Officer of the 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Brigade staff and Other Rankers were associated with the occasion. Asics shoes | Entrainement Nike
