52 Division Provides Cooked Meals to Flood Affected Families

On an initiative of the General Officer Commanding, 52 Division of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna, troops rose to the occasion and provided cooked meals to a section of poor civilians, affected by floods due to heavy rains and adverse weather condition that swept across the Jaffna Peninsula on Thursday (26) afternoon.

Nearly eight families living in Wandarawatta, Magalankerni, Eluthumadduuwal and Sivan Kovil Grama Niladhari Divisions in Chavakachcheri Divisional Secretariat area were displaced and evacuated by the troops.

Major General Kithisri Liyanage, General Officer Commanding of 52 Division, Officers and Other Ranks of the 7 Gajaba Regiment under the 522 Brigade provided cooked meals to members of those families who have been accommodated elsewhere.
