Giving a helping hand to those who are trying to improve their livelihood, the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) distributed 6 cattle among agricultural families living in Atchelu area.
Those cattle saved from slaughter by Ven. Ahangama Ananda Thero of Sri Vijayamangalaramaya at Wellawatte, Colombo 6 were delivered to SFHQ-J for distribution.
511 Brigade troops after conducting quarantine procedures through a veterinary surgeon at Atchelu while being detained for a few days made arrangements to hand over those cattle to the beneficiaries on Saturday (26). Six families received these animals during a very brief ceremony at the 511 Brigade Headquarters, headed by Colonel Wijendra Gunatillake, Commander, 511 Brigade under the SFHQ-J.
