The new gymnasium, established in the recently-opened 51 Division Headquarters building was opened to all ranks by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Security Force Commander - Jaffna on Saturday (16).
As the first-ever permanently established Army camp in the Jaffna peninsula, 51 Division has earned a name for itself as the ‘Exemplary and Beautiful Model Camp’ in the Army.
It was only a few weeks ago, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya ceremonially opened the newly erected 51 Division Headquarters in Jaffna during a ceremony.
Establishment of the new gymnasium enables all ranks in the Army to continue their physical training practices without any inconvenience.
51 Division General Officer Commanding and several senior Army officers were present at the ceremony.
