51 Division GOC Delivers Opening Address to Trainee Teachers

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, General Officer Commanding - 51 Division of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna was invited to deliver the opening address at a recent workshop on 'Leadership' attended by approximately 750 trainee teachers at National College of Education in Jaffna. Those trainee teachers of Tamil, Muslim and Sinhala ethnicity belonged to Trainee Batch Nos 18, 19 and 20 at the College.

During the opening session, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe amply highlighted the characteristics associated with Leadership, Military Leadership, Manager Vs Leader, Leadership Guidelines, Emotional Intelligence to Leadership and Leadership Competencies and highlighted the importance of such traits by way of influential, guiding and following abilities as leaders in society.

At the entrance, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe was warmly welcomed in traditional manner by Mr Subramaniyam Paramananthan, President of the National College of Education - Jaffna along with other senior staffers.

Director, Jaffna Teaching Hospital, Dr K. Nanthakumaran, Senior Member of Advisory Board, National College of Education, Jaffna, Dr Lion V. Thiyagaraja, Principal at Teachers’ Training College, Kopay, Mr V. Karunalingam and Commander 511 Brigade, Brigadier Jude Fernando participated in the inauguration ceremony.
