497 More Confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 Hours –NOCPCO

As of this morning (27), a total of 497 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 10 Sri Lankan expatriates and 487 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 151 from Colombo district, 89 from Gampaha district, 37 from Rathnapura District and 210 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (27), a total of 82,429 persons, inclusive of 78,819 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 77,624 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 4,341 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 664 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 5 more deaths have been reported from Nawadagala, Veyangoda, Kandy,Colombo -9 and Narahenpita areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 464 by this morning (27).
