Troops of the 9 Vijayabhau Infantry Regiment under command to the 573 Brigade HQ of the 57 Division of the Security Forces - Mullaittivu recently organized the distribution of school shoes, uniforms and bags among needy students in Shanmugarathnam Primary School in Mankulam.
The donation of those relief items, sponsored jointly by philanthropists, Mr. Rohan Appuhamy, Roshika De Silva, Himantha De Silva and Mr. Herbert De Silva benefited 49 needy school-going students.
Major General Chandimal Peiris, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division attended the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the 573 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Ramith Prasanna. Representative donors were also associated with the occasion.
