Four hundred and seventy six new recruits who underwent training in the Recruit Course No. 01 at the Battalion Training School (BTS) in Punani passed out in a formal military parade upon completion of their three-month long basic recruit training recently.
Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander, Security Forces - East received the salute as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the Commandant, BTS.
Private P.W.P.D Weerasinghe received the trophy as Best in Physical and the award for the Best Shot was clinched by Private A.A.D.D Adikari.
Private H.P.T.M Sampath received the trophy from the Chief Guest as the Best Recruit having achieved the highest aggregate marks for all theoretical and practical disciplines during the training course.
