Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) under its ongoing ‘Api Army’ recruitment programme of tradesmen and professionals, went to Mullaitivu on Saturday (31) and selected 37 youths for employment in the Army.
The interviews held at Puthukkudiyirippu Divisional Secretariat attracted 44 job seekers on that day but only 37 were qualified to seek employment with the Army considering their merits.
Those tradesmen are to be absorbed into Sri Lanka Army General Services Corps, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services Regiment for different spheres of trade under the scheme.
The SLAVF in the future expects to recruit more and more such tradesmen from Wanni and Northern areas after calling at different remote divisional secretariats.
