354 More COVID-19 New Cases Reported-NOCPCO

As of this morning (22), a total of 354 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 12 Sri Lankan expatriates and 342 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 197 from Gampaha District, 58 from Colombo district, 17 from Jaffna district and 70 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (22), a total of 90,199 persons, inclusive of 86,132 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 86,758 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 2,895 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 293 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. One more death has been reported from Medirigiriya area in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 546 by this morning (22).
