338 More Confirmed Positive - NOCPCO

As of this morning (18), a total of 338 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 16 Sri Lankan expatriates and 322 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 41 from Gampaha District, 40 from Matara District, 35 from Trincomalee District and other from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (18), a total of 88,861 persons, inclusive of 84,844 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 85,724 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 2,600 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 354 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. Three more deaths have been reported from Medirigiriya, Adigama and Polgasowita areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 537 by this morning (18).
