310 More Persons confirmed positive to COVID-19 in past 24 Hours -NOCPCO

As of this morning (2), a total of 310 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Seven Sri Lankan expatriates and 303 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 60 from Colombo district,40 from Gampaha district, 34 from Ratnapura district and 169 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (2), a total of 83,551persons, inclusive of 79,897 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 79,421 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,654 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 475 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 5 more deaths have been reported from Bulathkohupitiya, Colombo 10, Kandy, Ganemulla, and Pujapitiya areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 476 by this morning (2).
