3 More Deaths Reported During Last 24 Hours - NOCPCO

As of this morning (29), a total of 549 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Nineteen of them are Sri Lankan expatriates and other 530 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 237 from Colombo, 44 from Kandy district, 124 from Gampaha district and other 125 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (29), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 37,868. Meanwhile, 30,463 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (34,809) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (29), a total of 41, 602 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 32,220 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,188 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (29), 520 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, 03 more deaths have been reported from Kalutara-South, Darga Town and Theldeniya areas. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 194 by this morning (29).

As of this morning (29), the flight EY 6264 from Abu Dhabi with 13 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Saudi Arabia with 19 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 64 passengers have arrived. The flight PS 685 from Ukraine with 160 passengers, the flight TK 730 from Turkey with 04 passengers, the flight UL 1365 from Indonesia with 03 passengers, the flight EK 648 from Dubai with two passengers and the flight SQ 468 from Singapore with 22 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
