28 More Rehabilitated Combatants Go Back Home


One more batch of 28 former LTTE combatants after government’s rehabilitation left for their homes on Saturday (20) during a ceremony, held at Marathamadu Rehabilitation Centre, Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W).

During the ceremony, 9 former LTTE female cadres and 19 former combatants showcased their cultural and sports skills in front of Hon Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms, Ministry’s Secretary, Mr G.S Vithanage, Commissioner General for Rehabilitation, Brigadier Darshana Hettiarachchi, senior officers serving Wanni and a large gathering of invitees, including parents of those rehabilitees attended the occasion.    

Rehabilitation of those youngsters was brought to a completion by the Bureau of the Commissioner General for Rehabilitation with the support of experts and other instructors.
