A mobile eye clinic organized by 241 & 242 Brigades of the 24 Division under the Security Forces Headquarters-East on Sunday (18) benefited over 281 villagers in Thirukkovil, Pottuvil and Lahugala Divisional Secretariat areas.
The arrangement screened low-income group civilians with impaired vision and eye ailments before they were to be provided with free spectacles in future.
This community-oriented programme was conducted as per the directions given by Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters-East with the intention of giving medical assistance to the needy community.
The 24 Division's General Officer Commanding, Major General Saliya Amunugama, Brigadier Chandra Abeykoon and Colonel Anuruddha Sollangaarachchi, Brigade Commanders of 241 & 242 Brigades respectively, Major S.J Amadoru, Commanding Officer, 8 Sri Lanka National Guard (8 SLNG) and Major K.R.M Alawatta, Commanding Officer, 16 Sri Lanka National Guard (16 SLNG) coordinated the medical camp.
