A programme to educate the troops on eruption of fires and fire fighting was launched recently by the 24 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) in collaboration with the Fire Brigade, Ampara at the 24 Division Headquarters premises in Ampara.
During the awareness programme, a lecture session on fire-fighting and related rehearsals was conducted for Riot Control Teams in the Division Headquarters. Different types of fire extinguishers were used for rehearsals in order to introduce new equipment, needed for fire-extinguishing.
Officers and the staff of Ampara Fire Brigade conducted the programme. 10 officers and 80 Other Ranks attended lectures and rehearsals.
