233 Brigade Pockets Out Personal Money to Help the Needy

East-based 233 Brigade Headquarters, using its own initiatives recently took a large stock of readymade garments, confectionaries and snack packets for distribution among needy sections at Tikkana remote village, close to Kadiraweli.

Colonel W.S Ariyasinghe, Commander, 233 Brigade, Mrs Ariyasinghe, the spouse of the Brigade Commander, selected pre-school children of down-trodden families in the area for distribution of those goodwill gestures on their own, through the information received from Grama Niladharis (village-based state officials).

On the same day, those donors, together with several Army personnel visited pre-school teachers and disable civilians, resident in the area and gifted them with financial grants. During their interaction, these recipients thanked the Army for their concern.
