231 Brigade Troops to Construct Playground for Vinayagar College

7 Sri Lanka Engineers troops of the 231 Brigade of the 23 Division under the Security Force HQ - East at the request of school authorities offered their engineering and technical skills for construction of the playground at the Batticaloa / Man West Pawatkodichchenai Vinayagar College.

The commencement of the preparation of the ground got to a start on Wednesday (7) under the supervision of Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, Commander, 231 Brigade who coordinated the project. Donors in the area have offered financial assistance for construction of necessary infrastructure in the playground.

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces - East, together with Ms. Ahila Canagasooriyam, the Zonal Director of Education-Batticaloa, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, Commander, 231 Brigade, Colonel Kasun Adikari, Colonel General Staff, 23 Division, Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs and Civil Affairs Officer of SFHQ - East, Commanding Officer of 4 Gemunu Watch, Mr. R Murugesh Pillai, Divisional Director of Education, the Principal Mr. S Pushpaharan, parents and a section of students attended the occasion.
