23 Division Headquarters at Punani, continuing its social service projects in the area, laid the foundation stone for construction of a new house for Mr. W.G Darmadasa and his family at Aselapura, who deserve help on 06 March.
Major General D.D.U.K. Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division, laid the foundation stone at the auspicious time, together with Mr. Mahinda Rathnayake, the Presidential Coordinating Officer for Polonnaruwa District. Engineer Service Regiment troops of the 23 Division are to build the house.
Officers and other rankers of the 23 Division also participated in the event.
