212 Brigade Troops of 21 Division Put up Infrastructure Needs at Elayapattuwa Hospital

Considering long waited needs of patients visiting the Elayapaththuwa rural hospital in Tammennawa, 9 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) and 5 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 212 Infantry Brigade under the 21 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni with funds sent by three Australia-based Sri Lankan philanthropists erected the much-needed sanitary facilities, a waiting hall and a corridor passage in this remote hospital and vested it recently in the patients during a simple ceremony.

Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander Security Forces - Wanni, together with Brigadier Anil Peiris, 212 Brigade Commander, a few Senior Officers of the 21 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer of 5 SLNG Battalion, Hospital staff and civilians were there during the formal vesting of those facilities in the hospital administration.

Mrs Shamalee Weerasinghe, Mr Sirisena Jayarathna and Mr. Lucky Jayarathna sponsored the construction of those facilities through the coordination done by Major General Vikum Liyanage, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division.
