212 Brigade Provides Relief to a Lone Mother with Three Children

Following a cash donation, extended by an expatriate-resident in Australia through coordination done by Brigadier Anil Peiris, Commander 212 Brigade of the 21 Division under the Security Force HQ-Wanni, a helpless mother of three children was provided with a stock of dry rations and other essentials to the value of Rs 20,000.

Mrs I.S.M Wickramasinghe, alone mother residing at Thambiyawa, Thanthirimale with three children of 8, 4 years and of a 2-month old baby has become helpless with no bread winner for the family and started begging for meals before her plight was brought to the notice of the 212 Brigade Commander.

The cash donation was sponsored by Mr Damith Kahawe in Australia through the personal contact of the Commander 212 Brigade with the blessings of the GOC, 21 Division and the Commander Security Force Headquarters - Wanni.

The donation was personally delivered to the mother in question by the 212 Brigade Commander a few days ago after visiting her house in the presence of Senior Officers of the 21 Division, 212 Brigade, Commanding Officer of the 5 Sri Lanka National Guard and family members of the beneficiary.
