A stock of school uniforms, donated by Mr and Mrs Gamini Kariyawasam of Angulana, Moratuwa to the 211 Brigade Headquarters under Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni were given away to 247 students in Samanalkulam Government’s Tamil Mixed School and Muruganur Sarada Vidyalaya during a brief ceremony on Tuesday (9).
With the coordination of Colonel J.A.T.M Jayasuriya, Commander, 211 Brigade Headquarters and the Civil Affairs Officer, the donors have bought those uniforms for distribution among low-income group children in Wanni families. The simple ceremony for distribution took place at Samanalkulam Government’s Tamil Mixed School in Vavuniya.
The occasion was attended by Ms Anton Somaraj, Vavuniya Zone Education Director, Senior Officers and a large gathering of teachers and parents.
