211 Brigade Headquarters under Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) to coincide with its 28th Anniversary had several community-oriented projects.
During Nov 3, 4, 5, the 211 Brigade Headquarters in coordination with several non-governmental organizations conducted educational seminars targeting the GCE (O/L) examination in Ulukkulama Sirisumana Maha Vidyalaya, Madukanda National School and Vavuniya Perayakomarshakulam Maha Vidyalaya.
More than 900 students of these schools attended these seminars during separate days and the programmes were coordinated by Lieutenant Colonel T.M.G.B Tennakoon, Civil Affairs Officer at 211 Brigade Headquarters.
The seminar at Vavuniya Perayakomarshakulam Maha Vidyalaya drew more than 360 students and cost about Rs. 25,000/= which was borne by CIMA institute.
Vavuniya Zonal Education Directress Mrs Anton Somaraj, teachers and parents attended the inaugural occasions of those seminars.
Meanwhile, on Nov 6, the 211 Brigade Headquarters had a blood donation campaign to mark the anniversary commemoration. About 120 Army personnel gave away blood for the use of patients at Vavuniya Base Hospital.
