Troops of 2 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment conducted search and rescue operations to trace the whereabouts of six children who went missing during an excursion to the Hanthana mountain range on 20 March evening.
The incident was intimated to the 11 Division HQ at first and the search operation was launched on the directions of Major General Sarada Samarakoon, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division with the guidance given by Major General Ranjan Lamahewa, Commander, Security Forces - Central.
