159 More Persons Confirmed Positive to COVID -19 in Past 24 Hours –NOCPCO

As of this morning (6), a total of 159 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 22 Sri Lankan expatriates and 137 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 56 from Colombo District, 31 from Rathnapura District, 14 from Gampaha District and 36 others from different Districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (6), a total of 93,594 persons, inclusive of 89,187 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 90,562 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and care centres. The rest, 2,446 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 355 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. Likewise, five more deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 586 by this morning (5).
