12,883 PCR Tests Done on Thursday - NOCPCO

As of this morning (5), a total of 384 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 33 Sri Lankan expatriates and 351 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 78 from Colombo district, 64 from Rathnapura district, 35 from Kandy district and 174 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (5), a total of 84,609 persons, inclusive of 80,950 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 80,836 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,284 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 399 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. five more deaths have been reported from Ussapitiya, Mattakkuliya, Kolonnawa, Boralesgamuwa and Giriulla areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 489 by this morning (5).
