Troops of the 11 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) constructed a new house for a needy family in Madawalalanda, Ampara. This project was carried out under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, and the supervision of the Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, and Major H.P.C. Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer of the 11 SLNG.
Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and handed over the keys to the beneficiary on 03 September 2024. The project, valued at approximately Rs. 5,091,610, was made possible through financial and material support from the communities in the Ampara and Akkareipaththu areas. Additionally, the family received essential household appliances and a dry ration packs.
On the same day, the 241 Infantry Brigade distributed maternity aid to 32 pregnant mothers from low-income families in the Damana area, sponsored by HEMAS Company. This initiative aimed to support the well-being of expectant mothers from underprivileged backgrounds.
The ceremony was attended by Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and local residents.
