11 Division HQ of the Security Force HQ-Central in Pallekele, Kandy marked its 11th anniversary on Monday (15) giving priority to religious observances and military formalities.
Together with Major General Sarada Samarakoon, General Officer Commanding 11 Division, troops organized a 'Kiri Ahara Pooja' (milk rice) offerings at Sri Dalada Maligawa. Afterwards, 30 kids at 'Singithi Sewana' pre-school were gifted with pre-school accessories as incentives on account of the anniversary.
On the same day, troops awarded a Guard Turnout salute to the General Officer Commanding upon his arrival at the premises. To mark the occasion, a new sign board at the entrance was opened by the GOC before he was invited to lay the corner-stone for construction of the new kitchen complex in the camp compound.
An all rank tea arrangement brought the day's event to culmination.
